Driving without Helmet
₹1,000💡 What to do:Always wear an ISI marked helmet. Fine can also include disqualification of license for 3 months.
Driving without License
₹5,000💡 What to do:Always carry a physical or digital (DigiLocker/mParivahan) copy of your valid Driving License.
Drunk Driving
₹10,000 and/or 6 months prison💡 What to do:Never drink and drive. Repeat offense fine is ₹15,000 and/or 2 years prison.
Driving without Seatbelt
₹1,000💡 What to do:Ensure both driver and front passenger are wearing seatbelts.
Overspeeding
₹1,000 to ₹2,000💡 What to do:Light motor vehicles: ₹1,000-₹2,000. Medium/Heavy passenger vehicles: ₹2,000-₹4,000.
Driving without Insurance
₹2,000 and/or 3 months prison💡 What to do:Always carry valid third-party insurance at minimum.
Using Mobile Phone while Driving
₹1,000 to ₹5,000💡 What to do:Using a phone for navigation is allowed if mounted properly, but texting/calling is punishable.
Driving without valid PUC Certificate
₹10,000💡 What to do:Ensure your Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate is renewed regularly.
Jumping Red Light
₹1,000 to ₹5,000💡 What to do:Follow traffic signals. License can be suspended for repeat offenses.
Not giving way to Emergency Vehicles
₹10,000💡 What to do:Always pull over to the left to let Ambulances and Fire Engines pass.
